Thanks for posting the ad Scott and I'm sure that someone in the States will grab it pretty quickly.

What annoys me is that why put restrictions on where the item is going to be posted, the buyer pays for the post and packaging anyway, it is no skin off the nose of the seller.

Most restrictions on ebay only appear in the country where it is being viewed.

i spose its easier cuz the guy kinda knows what the rate will be inside the u.s. this book is freakin huge and heavy . maybe overseas rates vary so the shipper doesnt want the extra step. all he would have to do is charge a flat rate for overseas then after shipping refund the diff to whomever once you get the exact total. really great book. last year i found a guy that said $300 obo so i sent an email offering $240 plus shipping and he bit so i got one. its my favorite book and i got some stacks of books.

Does not ship to Australia due to needing a container ship to carry the weight!  :)
It's a tome of a book and not exactly what you would call feather light  ;)

I need to dig out my mint copy and sling it on ebay for the highest bidder. Should fetch me a couple of WNW's me thinks.

It weighs an absolute ton, that's probably why it does not ship to Aus & NZ.

I've got one for sale on Amazon.co.uk: (I'm Warbird Books);

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Austro-Hungarian-Army-Aircraft-World-War/dp/0963711008/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406027310&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN+ARMY+AIRCRAFT+OF+WORLD+WAR+ONE+BY+GROSZ%2C+HADDOW%2C+%26+SCHIEMER

First Edition, signed by Peter Grosz. It's a hell of a book, but probably the most expensive one I sell.

It’s a wonderful book.

I saw a new one for sale, not that long ago, at the original price.  I’ll look into this (availability) and shipping costs.  Can’t make promises but I’d be optimistic.

I reckon a couple of copies made it down to Oz when first published; got mine a few years ago.

yes, it is a really big and heavy book. its oversized in length and width as well as being thick and extremely heavy.and i use it all the time and it is the best for a/h ww1 enthusiast. it has appendices and all kinda of statistical info on the planes , the manufacturers etc.etc.etc. it took me several sit downs to be able to digest what all was in there.it has photos ive never seen anywhere. its just massive. and it doesnt even include naval craft. if you have this and windsock datafiles on the main a/h types its all you would ever need to model or scratch build a/h army craft of ww1. i love it.its worth the money . to be honest i dont get why the havent done another printing. they could retail it at $150 easy and sell 1000 the first day.

Found one, it’s in Oz.

AUD$160.00

I don’t know about the shipping costs to NZ.

I agree with ALBATROS1234.  I was very excited to see all the in-field aircraft with their nasty little canvas wheels covers off.  Clearly, I have a (diminishing) vested interest in promoting spoked wheels.  An important point about this book is that the period photos were widely sourced and quite independent of any concerns about the wheels when the book was published.

Just goes to show what a large, representative sample of the period photography reveals.

? Second printing: I always understood that after the first edition was sold, the copyright reverts to the original author/owner.  Subsequent printings have to be re-negotiated and the author gets paid again by the publishing house.  Great if you've got a best seller.  This doesn't apply to the nasty little E-books; once sold the publisher has got it forever.

Do you think Justin still wants this book?

I got the book Rittmeister.  It’s still in its plastic cover.

Can collect it on Friday.  Shipping could be Monday or more likely when I get back from Indonesia around 9 August.  You can have this one at cost plus shipping with receipts.

Best that you get this one from me Justin, I reckon the centre fold pages of Bob Von B’s copy are stuck together!   ;D
