Whilst I've got some time at the computer, and since I made that opening post, I had an idea and have been busy.
I stuck the top wing in the scanner and then, using Photoshop, I have drawn on the pattern. The plan is to print this onto decal paper. I've used decal paper before for railway models but only for small things such as engine numbers. I've never printed a decal as large as this and I don't know how well it will settle in to all the ribs on the wings as it seems to be thicker than kit decals.

The other unknown is how well the printer will reproduce the colour. Will I have to paint the colour on the wing as an undercoat, or will the ink alone suffice? It's all a bit of an experiment

If it all goes wrong I can always paint it as a normal Camel....
