Real time progress, though very slow, has got well ahead of this Build Log. Time for an update .............
Since no locating pins are molded into the fuselage I added a little extra by way of rough brackets to aid with alignment and strengthen the final assembly.

The ailerons have been removed from the lower wing and steel pins installed.

The Aviattic (Ron Kootje) "peach basket" seat well worth waiting for as supplied and ready to install. Not seen, the cushion supplied with it, I'll catch that with a shot or two of the seat with the belts installed.
Before.........

and after...............

Once assured that the cockpit module would fit (I ultimately had to remove a portion of the aft circular frame to allow it to slide into the closed fuselage) the fuselage was closed, filled, lower wing installed,

and then sanded down to a "ready for paint" state.

The lower wing attachment was a little "rough" but easily remedied with several applications of putty, in this case Squadron "Green Stuff" filler.

I've since completed the pre shading, this had to be done in two sessions as I forgot the small "half ribs" on the lower leading edge of the bottom wing (?!?!) first attempt. The ailerons were done as well, the tailplane, being veneer covered was left as is. I'm hoping to get away with pre-shading only on this one as the references I have show generally clean looking machines and not a lot of rib detail on the wings.
The lower wing joints filled and finished.

The upper fuselage....

and some of the completed pre-shading.

The Aviattic sample cowling was cleaned up to a finished state and, at this point, will be the one of choice as it has the rivet line molded to the front portion, something missing on the Kit version as can be seen here.

The seat has been completed with bits and pieces of HGW Seat Belts from the spares box and I'll include a few closeups in the next update. Almost time to start mixing some of those off the wall French Cam. Colours!

Cheers,
Lance
