Micro update, showing the first try for carving a Garuda propeller. The attemt was unssucesfull, but I hope that with the next try I will get a more satisfying result. The new lamination is already prepared :)

Regards,
Sasho

If that Garuda is a reject, I can't wait to see the acceptable version!  Would you mind sharing some details about your laminate materials?

This is a lovely build Sasho.

Sasho,
My first attempt (and several more!) ended in failure as well, and Garudas, like Niendorf's, are a little trickier then some of the less curved ones such as the Axials. Looks like you are already skilled at this but if it helps I've got a Tutorial in "Hints and Tips" on how I do mine. What sort of veneers did you use for this one? Oh, and the Eindecker is spectacular!
Cheers,
Lance

Darn good try, and if first you don't succeed try try again as they say... I suspect you will be a master of this in no time...

@Bo and Mcgunnis: thank  you guys for the comments
@Bigblue: I enjoy your Eindecker build also :). I am using vaneer, the light one is Beech or at least the guy at the shop told me so. The dark one was given to me by a fellow modeller, together with another lighter shade. He didn't know what kind of timber was used for them, but looking at it, I think that it is possible to be a Peаr. I cut some stripes with appropriate dimensions of the 2 types of vaneer and glued them together with with glue for wood. I constricted (is this the right word?) them overnight between two solid wooden blocks, locked with tongs. On the next day I just started sanding with my dremel. By the way, I found that using Beech makes the whole thing way sturdier and a bit harder to work with. The Beech is just too stout, but actually this is a good thing in the end as the final result just loooks better than what I was using before fo rhe light laminations (maybe ash tree)
@Icecarroll: I know your tutorial by heart already :), it was THE thing, that gave me the confidence to try carving a propeller for my Roland some time ago. Now, I'm going for the same thing again with this build. Yeah probably simplified and modified it a bot so it works for me.

As you may note from my forum name, Eindeckers are probably my favorite aircraft. Yours is exceptionally well done and I especially like the staining, fading and oily gunk you managed on the fuselage and wings. Very artistic.
I now have the Eindecker IV on my short list.
