I'm baaaaack! I've been pretty quiet around here for the last six months. Some might say that's not a bad thing!

I was concentrating on an AFV modelling project and suffered from a good dose of tunnel vision. The project was for the inaugural AMPS Great White North show in Oshawa, Ontario at the end of May. Oshawa is the home of the Ontario Regiment which served in the Italian campaign in the Second Great Unpleasantness as an armored regiment. My project was to model the following in 1:35 scale. The image shows an Ontario Regiment Sherman V being recovered on a captured German Sd.Ah.116 transporter trailer, lashed up to a RCEME Diamond T 980 tractor unit.

I used the Merit International Diamond T tractor from their M19 kit, Tamiya's Sd.Ah.116 trailer and Tasca's Sherman V kit as a basis for the project. It involved some conversion and scratchbuilding so it was a bit time intensive. When fully assembled, the model is 61 cm (24") in length so it's a bit hard to photograph. I did take one shot on my bench before the show though, and it'll give you an idea of the size.

All in all, it was a lot of fun but with it finally put to bed, I've now made a start on an OAW built Fokker D.VII kit. More on that in the near future.
Cheers,
Chris
