Hello James:

I agree with Mark:  I like the warm wood tones you have achieved with your methods.  I wouldn't get too wrapped round the axel with the fuel tank or some of the other interior pieces as once buttoned up, they become invisible.  I like the affect of the 1/48 Turnbuckles.  Gotta get me some.
Looking forward to the next update.

Best

Mark

James, you're off to a great start with this. Everything is looking really nice so far.

Buchner's was always one of my favourite colour schemes, and I know what you mean about falling for more of them. There are a few D.VIIs in my stash too.

I'll enjoy following this one.

Nice job, James. I particularly like the warm wood tones.

Mark G.

Agreed! Very nice work on the wood panel and floor!

Great start, James.  Excellent woodgrain treatments as well as the
interior bracing.  I look forward to the next updates.  Well done!

Cheers.

Thank you guys. Most appreciated. It keeps me motivated. A bit more done. Just not building as much as I had hoped this week. Got the line on the fuel pressure pump. Got some control wires on. Got some linkages done. Just need to loop through some thread for the aileron cables and finish buttoning up the framing. Then I think I can do the fuselage before the engine. Will have to try a dry run. Then its off to the engine. So thoughts and critiques are welcome.

Thanks guys. Cockpit is done. Just doing the engine bearers and then I will button it up. Going to paint it and do what has to be done and then build engine and finish that off. Last pic shows fuse taped in place to make sure fit is good. I cheaped out and painted the rails cdl instead of putting the decals on. Got scared after reading here about the thrill of putting them on lol. Enjoying this build immensely.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Looking mighty fine indeed James, the interior work is excellent. Are those the 1:48 Gas Patch Turnbuckles on the frame? If so whats the best/fastest source for them?
Not too late to try those lozenge strips on the cockpit upper frame members before you close her up..... ;D!?! ::)
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks everyone. Lance I get mine right from Gaspatch. They are pretty quick. I see that Last Cavalry http://shop.lastcavalry.com/  will be carrying them. Daves a really good guy and fast.
James

Looking great James, that is one stunning interior!
