Hi James.  Like Nigel, I have never used lacquer thinner with Tamiya acrylics but
seeing how well it worked for you I will give it a try.  Your build is coming along
beautifully. I have no doubts that you will be able to fix up the lozenge easily.
Great work, my friend.  I look forward to the next updates.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks guys. I used the blue called for, Tamiya X-14. I cant wait to see the contrast when I put the green and white checkerboard decals on.  As this is the first time I have used the lacquer thinner mixture  I am going to give it another day before I decal the fuselage though. Just because I dont yet know all the properties I am working with.
Next up is working on the upper wing. I was going to go all out on the engine, but as I wanted this all buttoned up most of the work would not be seen. Thinking about taking an engine from one of my Albies and just buildingit, then use the engine I've been working on in something that will be opened up.

I have mine finished in this scheme. Just needs the rigging doing. I'm going to post it then, but I don't want to "steal your thunder" as I used the same colour. I really like it. I used IJN green for the cowling I think.

I dont mind Dave. Is the IJN green the one WNW calls for? Or is it a better choice do you think?

Outstanding paint and decal work, James, and the patterned cowling looks really good! Question, where did you stash the eggs from your work stand, I'd lay low until SWMBO gets over the "Loose eggs" in the fridge event?! ;)
Beautiful work thus far 8)

Thanks. Lance after many years Chris now puts the egg cartons by my desk. I've been using these as paint stands, cribs to hold a model etc foe a long time. Of course after many years I know now to leave the eggs alone until she gives me the empty carton lol.
