Oh, my, Dan!  This really is lovely!  Those early Albatros are the most elegant, imho.
Cheers,
Bud

Wonderful work especially that wood finish which is so convincing. An interesting build/conversion.

Thanks, Everyone.  Here it is with the rigging done, elevator installed, and landing gear cemented.  The wheels are just stuck on for show as well as the prop...

Still needs all the control wires installed and more details etc. but it's really looking the way I wanted it to look.

I think the next thing I'll do is rig the landing gear and add bungees.  The only painful thing left is the exhaust...no...I haven't started that yet  ;)

What a nice productive weekend this was.  Cheers!

Dan

She is a gorgeous looking Albatros Dan, you have done a superb job with the wood effect, it looks very convincing and the rigging is excellent.

All,

Well...got it almost done.  The next post will be in the finished pile  ;)

I got it all rigged including the control lines and then looked carefully at the prototype shots and saw what I assume is an OUTSIDE rudder control horn...I don't think those were on production machines.  So I needed to add that after the fact.  I added bungees on the axle, painted most everything...and now all that's needed are a few more details, some shading and...of course...that darn vertical exhaust stack.  We'll see if that turns out!   ::)

My son made me the rudder decal of the Albatros Company.  He took a full size color shot and reduced it, did some magic and got it dang close to 1/32nd.  I then just printed it on decal film.  Thanks, Peter!!

Thanks for looking...Dan

Looking extremely good Dan, the rigging is very well done and the decals, especialy the little tail decal, look excellent.

Very nice build Dan.

Here's a great big  :-* for the spinner on your D-I prototype.  I like em with CDL wings.
