Hello everyone. Time for a bit of news...Finally, coming out
of the shadows, the Pup is a biplane.

The upper wing went on without any problems. Thank you WnW, for saving
me from my impending breakdown over such things.

Now onto the engine. It was put together without any extras, other than fine
copper wire for the spark plug leads...thanks for the great idea, Bertl! The
paint was Gunze Mr. Metal Stainless Steel, oversprayed with Tamiya Smoke,
and given a wash of MIG's 502 abteilung oil and grease. I love that stuff.

the exhaust tubes were painted with Citadel paints, Warplock Bronze. I got that
idea from on of our amazing modellers and for the life of me I can't think of who,
so thank you a bunch anyway!
after that the whole thing was sealed with Model Master Sealer. Job done.

I know that the exhaust tubes don't mate with the cylinders, and I thought of
trying to fix that, but decided that I didn't want to take the chance of screwing
it all up, especially as they really don't show much at all when the cowling is on.

Wingnuts could improve that bit anytime they wish.

The one "oops" I made was losing the plastic retaining clip on the shaft so in a fit
of ingenuity I replaced it with brass wire. Shades of Bo!

Well, nothing left to do but put the engine up where it belongs...

I forgot that I had previously done the propeller. Nothing fancy there, just a base
of Tamiya Wooden Deck Tan, covered with brown water colour from a tube and
then airbrushed Tamiya Clear Orange until the colour looked about right...I hope!

Ta Da!

Well there you have it. We are up to date now, with the completion of the
rigging next to do. after that, some weathering and that would pretty much
complete Betty.
Thanks to everyone for dropping by to have a look. As usual, any suggestions
or advice would be much appreciated. Until later...
Cheers,
Ernie
