Sorry about the loss of your pet my friend. It's amazing how important these creatures are our in our lives. Was recently in your shoes with a "drop-off" that had adopted us and whose time had come, very sad anyway (we live in the country and not-too-infrequently pets show up that misguided city folks think will thrive in the wild... Sometimes they survive long enough to find their way to our door... we do what we can)

Thanks. I'ts a shame, but it's also amazing how much of your life that is
geared around them. Such is life. We live in a quiet part of North Wellington
and he had a bit of bush to explore, so he was happy. Ce la vie eh?
On with the airplane . . . . Better catch up and get it finished.

Cheers

Thank you Lance. I might just do that, as apart from my local model club
(apart from yourselves) nobody really sees them. I will have a look and
see what happens. Have a good one my friend.

All the very best from New Zealand.

Dave

Dave,
Recently I attended the Western Canadian IPMS Regional Show and met a very interesting "plastic junkie", a retired surgeon who submitted a few photos to Windsock years back. In the event he had several full build articles published, works with Lance Kreig on articles, and his work is absolute "world class" (he took several awards at the show) If you have a collection of Windsocks look for Tom Morgan. His 1:48 Neiuport 28 and a scratch built DH2 are in Vol 19,No's 1 and 2 and Vol24, No 6. I back ordered them just for learning purposes, great stuff and, I must say, your model is in the same class. Hope to see your RE8 in the magazine soon!
Cheers,
Lance

ps.

Lance, I contacted Ray Rimmel, and he is happy to publish the 'finished item'
in the Readers Gallery of Windsock. Thanks for the info and the push in the
right direction.

Cheers

Dave, that's very impressive and a beautiful finish.  What colour did you use for they tyres? Now I'm painting mine, (Pfalz), I've noticed tyres seem to range in colour from near black to a Medium Sea Grey- and I can see no rhyme nor reason for the differences.

Cheers.

Dal.

G'Day Dal

I just took Tamiya, mid grey and lightened it a wee bit.
Nothing magic. I found a colour photo of a CAmel and 'winged it'.
Here's a few more pics as an update. The rigging is being done
slowly to avoid anY 'upsets' . . . Patience being the key.
These two show the pitot tubing.

I'ts hard not to break bits off, as I have been doing.

Tail rigging and elevator done now.
Getting there.

By the way . . . .the foam is to stop the somewhat fragile tailskid
becoming a casualty of my clumsiness . . . . I've broken off too
many bits recently.

HAVE A GOOD ONE LADS
