Lance,

Clever fix on the radiator filler pipe.  Also, unless you had said, I would not even have noticed the dent in the MG cooling jacket.

Coming along lovely!

Regards

Dave

I agree with Dave! By the way even after you pointed it out I can't see the dent in the MG.  8)

Quit the up date Lance and your recovery is well done . Rib tapes are much better and look with sharp with the shading .

Wow, Lance...

Lovely work.  Really convincing scuffing too.  Can't wait to see the final product!

Lance, your work always astounds me, and this update is no different.
the lozenge work is beautiful especially the post shading.  You have
done a superb job of the radiator.  I can hardly wait for the next update.
Great job, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Great job re-doing the rib tapes Lance, they look much better the lighter shade, and your mod to the radiator filler pipe is excellent, very well done.

Good repair job on the ribtapes. I think you made a good decision to rework the dark ones.

Hello Lance:

The rib tapes re-do outcome is certainly worth the effort.  Looks pretty slick.  I couldn't see the 'damaged' cooling jacket, ergo it will be invisible with the upper wing on.

The radiator area really looks nice, again, worth the effort.
Looking forward to the next update.

Many Thanks to all of you for your kind comments; as always reinforcement from the outside makes for the best kind of  encouragement! I'm pleased with the difference made by the lighter tapes and the radiator, once I got my head around a solution, worked out well.
I hope to get some bench time tomorrow, seems so close to being completed however it "ain't over til it's over"! ::)
Cheers,
Lance

Just a quick update with a few work bench photos; installed the struts and got the upper wing on yesterday. The aileron wires from fuselage to wing and also on the control horns have yet to be painted.

...................and a couple of closer shots. The struts (installed in the fuselage first)  attachments were superb, went in in perfect alignment and nice and solid. Once the fuselage connections were dry I first attached the triple cabanes to the upper wing (also an excellent fit), then worked in the single aft cabanes and, once dry, "popped" in the "N" Struts. The assembly is surprisingly strong and rigid once completed. A really well thought out Kit design.

Hopefully today will see the rudder installed and tail rigging completed and then some lifting handles and a step installed. After some touch ups and installing the landing gear she should be ready for the Completed Section.
Cheers,
Lance

Man, Lance, that is looking fantastic!  Must be a really striking showpiece when you see it in the flesh. I've got the Candian Fokkers sheet, and you're really making a case for doing it soon!

Hi Lance:

This is really looking neat.  The Maple leaf sets it off nicely without overshadowing the original scheme.  Except for the damaged cooling jacket  ;), ..........seriously, outstanding work Lance.  Makes me want to do another one!

Best

Your Fokker is looking great - i would not dare painting the struts after installing them for fear of spilling paint onto those beautiful wings.
