Tom I can only echo the comments regarding your Snipe...it is absolutely
wonderful.  Your turned metalwork is excellent and thank you for the
explanation of your technique.  I am looking forward to the next updates.
Have a safe trip, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Tom,
I agree 100% with ernie! Beautifully done and a BIG thanks for the explanation!

Thanks to everybody who's commented on this build, the support is really appreciated. I do think WNW make it easy to get good results though. This is a great kit with plenty of detail OOB.

Here's the latest. The bottom wing is now on and the tail feathers are on and rigged. There's a lot of work in this area, and the fin and rudder can be quite fiddly but all very satisfying once it's done. I should be able to get the top wing on over the next day or two. Not far to go now.

Cheers

Tom

Hello Tom:

Looking good to date.  I like your preshading.  You are about that much further ahead than me on this one.  I will be watching as you continue to work through the build.   I can see how the rudder assembly can be fiddly.  Good job.  I like the color.

Best

Thanks Mark. I'm glad you like the preshading, I tried to keep it subtle and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. For the upper surfaces I just drybrushed the rib tapes to highlight the stitching.

Nigel, Patrick, Rick and Lance; Thanks for the compliments.

Another trip to work this evening and rather than pack my bags and getting ready I have been rigging the Snipe. My taxi is now about ¾hour away, oops. Just time for this quick update.
Once I get back home I'll paint the rigging and add the rest of the parts and weather it. It's been fun.

Hello Tom:

Looking mighty fine.  The metal surfaces really stand out.  I am still trying to figure out how you did that.  It just looks so sweet.  I bet you're glad you did that.

Looking forward to the next update.
