Absolutely amazing work on the Snipe, Tom!  It is really a joy to behold.
Not much else to say other than if I ever needed inspiration for mine,
languishing in the stash, all I have to do is look at what you have done.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Almost done now, propeller, cowling, Aldis sight and bomb carrier are all that's left to go on.

Castor oil staining on the bottom wing was done with oil paint and I'm not really happy with it, next time I'll do something with the airbrush. It is underneath though, so I'm not losing any sleep over it.

So just the above mentioned parts to get finished and attached, a few touch ups and this one will be done

Thanks for checking it out.

Tom

Beautiful! And the oil stains are fine, too. You are too much self-critical. I like what you achieved!

Hello Tom:

I agree with Bo and Prez:  I think the stains look convincing as well.  I like this model and I especially like the way your matal burnishing finish turned out.  Do you have a template you could post with the model with the spacing?  It just sets it off so nicely.
Outstanding work all around Tom.  Thanks for sharing your work.

Best

Tom,
The oil staining is OUTSTANDING! I like the "soaked in" effect closer to the wing roots; looks identical to the stains we see in some of Jamo's photos of TVAL Aircraft. Nicely done and a beautiful Build overall.
Cheers,
Lance

Very impressive, Tom. Given the praise you've deservedly received, old duffers like me just keep learning.

A beautiful looking model Tom, the finish on this plane is superb and the oil stains are as close to the real thing as anyone could get, very well done.

Thanks for your support Mark. Sorry, but I don't have any template. I just marked up the masking tape as I went along and I don't have anything left over now.

Cheers Lance, those were the same photos I used for reference so I must have done something right!

The model is finished now, I'll start a new thread in the completed section with some more photos. Thanks to everyone who's followed along, I really appreciate all the words of encouragement.
