Cheers chaps. The lozenge is done, under microsol at the mo. Richard is very kindly sending some lozenge, which I shall use on the next one, coming soon.
I have managed to paint the blue over the wheels still showing the lozenge, which is pleasing.
A tip! Some builders have had a gap under the engine. I am fitting the engine after painting and closing the cowls. Don't fit part a33 the chin, until after the engine is seated. The engine pushes the bearers and therefore the nose apart a bit as a bulge on the engine impinges on a slot cut out of the left engine bearer. The engine needs a firm squish down, then fit the chin which now matches the nose contour. The radiator has a hose that then pings into the front cylinder head. Use tape to hold the whole shebang together.
Another tip is to not use  fuselage nose former a52. Mine pinged off and made the fit better, but you can't see it through the chin slots anyway.

I'll post some snaps after I assemble the nose. First I need to paint the fuselage silbergrau.

I managed to keep the wheels translucent. The intake lagging is thick mr surfacer. I like it as it looks like asbestos tape.

The prop is better in this light.

Hello Dr. Dave:

You are making good progress here with the Pfalz DXII.  I like the scheme you have chosen, and I can see the lozenge through the blue on the wheels, nice touch as is the Mr. Sufacer on the intake manifold.

Looking forward to seeing  you progress on this model.

Best

Brilliant work, Dave!  Truly astonishing how much you've completed in such a short time.
Cheers,
Bud

I'm using a lieue day today as I worked Christmas Day. It's not too hard to build fairly rapidly if you plan in advance what is to be done in the odd hour here and there. As I use acrylics, the fuselage was sprayed, masked, futured and decalled then futured again in just an hour. The wing lozenge only takes an hour.
I must say so far this is a great kit.
