Beautiful Tripe Rick!  Amazing paintwork, especially the streaking, which looks
perfect.  Superb job, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks Ernie for your very quick response! I don't think I had actually loaded all of the pics before your response  ;D The streaking was done using Xtra color German Fokker Green. I found that the Gloss paint allowed me to use the same technique that I use with oils. Brush on a line over An Acrylic CDL, then Spread with a flat brush LOADED with thinner. Add more paint where needed and wipe off where you don't want dark green.

I'll add mine, MvR's 152/17 in March of 1918. Great little Kit with a bit of care and effort.(1:32 Roden)

Some extra work on the engine cowling to add the centre plate and some rivets. The prop is hand laminated and carved, a Heine version.

Striping is acrylics over CDL Enamel which I worked out on some scrap components. I think I'd consider oils next time........
Thanks for opening this up Rick, and beautiful work top to bottom on yours!
Cheers, :)
Lance

Superb Triplane Lance!  The cockpit/Spandau area is stunning.  Your paintwork is
wonderful.  Out of curiosity, what red would you suggest for MVR's aeroplanes?  I
would someday like to attempt the completely red version.  Thanks for sharing your
talents!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Ernie,
I used a mix I found somewhere on another Site years ago; Model Master enamels as follows:
3 Parts MM 2073 (RLM 23 "Rot") to 1 Part MM 1705 (FS 31136 Insignia Red)
The RLM 23 appears pink in the bottle; for the lighter cross fields I went with it unmixed and then lightly over sprayed with the 3/1 Mix.
Cheers,
Lance
