Hi gentlemen!

Thank you very much Des, it's my goal...

You were warned ... I spent little time in my workshop . The little time spent in the workshop, I dedicated to testing. Since I realize spoked wheels for automobiles, and for this aircraft it will take two, in my dream is to get to "roll" rims and forget brass machining on the lathe.
Many unsuccessful attempts, different techniques equally unsuccessful but finally I see the end of the tunnel .
I think to get better, but for now here is the result :

All this is far from perfect ...
The rim is made in two parts .

Here is my method on the milling machine, again:

Roulette was machined on the lathe , the cap come from a turnbuckle ... a boat turnbukcle !

Stay tuned for the final result ...

Dan.

Very nice indeed Dan.

Interesting to see how you've gone about making the rims.     Was it particularly difficult to keep them round?

An very good approach to manufacturing the rims Dan, they look pretty good from where I sit. What are you going to use for the spokes?

Thank you gentlemen!

To Des, 0,6mm brass wire an eyelets, wait and see...
To Alan, it's not really easy but by movements back and forth , I  strength the half-rim to take the form :

It's better now:

[/ url]

Drilling on the divider plate (EMCO), only 72 spoke per rim...

And the result ...

Good week to all !

Great work Dan I've been very busy doing the exact same thing the last few weeks now , currently making wheel sets for the big 1/8th scale Monogram E Type.
Love the Idea of rolling the rims rather than machining them, it's a process I'm yet to try. Cheers

Thank you friends , your enthusiasm is really nice to me ...

A rim is finished:

Naturally,  a hub is needed. 72 small holes of 0.7 mm  ...
The spokes them are 0.6 mm in diameter.

The first spokes , placed on the jig, that I forgot to photograph in
whole. This will be done at the completion of the second rim .

Thank you all and good WE !
