Sincerely, I woul not call what you have done "using the Hasegawa pieces". You only used the wood provided in the kit to make your own - and of course much better - parts. Greetings again!!!!

Hi gentlemen!

Tail plane in progress:

Immediately, it is clear that we will have somewhat refine it all ...
To the right  the original part,  tough!

The butt joints are not really mechanical, I realize systematically
 mid-wood assemblies:

A trailing edge rather "tough" too:

Once reworked, we arrive at an acceptable result:

Aileron hinges are "home made" of course!

As the rods besides, here is only the upper position:

As you can see, this beautiful kit requires a little work ...
The next stage will be mounting these on the fuselage and wiring.
Some sport, finally!

Dan.

Excellent reworking of the tail plane Dan, and the fuselage stringers look great.

Thank you very much guys!

No secret in fact... Six or seven hours per day in my work shop, well equipped and a bit of patience!

Who said rigging, and wiring may be?

Port aileron is rigging and wiring!

To prevent rigging trouble...

To prevent wiring trouble too...

Pulleys and supports, height for ailerons...

Thanks for your support!

Hello Dan:

Just catching up a bit here.  It is neat to see modeling at this level.  It is really a throw back to modeling in the early days when plans and raw materials were all that were in the box.  This is turning out really nice and displays your outstanding workmanship and attention to detail.

Best

Thank you Bo and Mark!

Once upon a time wires. A lot of wires...
Now, here they are, all:

To be honest, it's a bit boring.
For a first attempt, I did not choose the easier way...

Cheers, Dan.

Inspirational job - I have the Camel in my stash awaiting my retirement (15 years to go)
You should publish a book on this build!
