nice work so far on your brisfit. this is a really good kit. it is sorta the same analogy of the eduard vs roden fokker d.vii. the eduard is nicely detailed and easier to build. the bottom wing is easy compared to roden as roden has all individual parts that dont lock in like the eduard. but the roden has much more detail in the engine/engine compartment area. good luck on your build and i will come watch now and then.

Hello Ro

As you are making this excellent progress you are fast approaching what for me was one of the key areas of construction: attaching the lower wing to the fuselage. As Albatros has said, the relevant Eduard parts click very nicely and securely into place. However, you may need to watch the undercarriage struts in relation to the lower wing. It is definitely nothing major, just some judicious sanding. I needed to file a little groove in the rear of the front struts and also very slightly enlarge the holes where the rear struts pass through the wing. As ever, lots of dry-fitting is the key.

Best wishes
Nigel

Hi there,
thank you all for the positive comments, this means a lot to me. Today I joined the fuselage halves, was a little bit fiddly as there were inside a lot of parts which had to be carefully aligned. Then the fit was very good, still have to take care about the seam lines. Pics will follow, to much work at the moment …
@Nigel: Thank you so much for the tips and hints about attaching the lower wing and the fuselage. I will take care and do a lot of dry-fitting.

Cheers, ro

Hi to all,
just a quick update. The fuselage halves are glued together followed by some sanding. Next were attaching the struts to the underwing. Today I started drilling all the holes in the fuselage and wings. I couldn't resist to try the decals supplied by Revell's re-boxing. With some Micro Sol and Set they performed very nice. Yes, it's only slow progress …
Kind regards,
ro

Hi to all,
I moved forward with the build of my F.2B, but very slowly. Painting was done with Tamiya acrylics and my trusty H&S airbrush. Followed by a coat of Klear I started decaling the fuselage. Thank you for stopping by,
Kind regards, ro
