Fabulous!

Seems a shame to put something on top of it.

Hello Paolo:

The preshading on the fuselage looks just right in the pictures. If it looks like that on the model, I would leave it alone.  The rest should turn out quite nice as you have done an excellent job of preshading to represent depth and the contours.

Looking forward to more.

Best

here we are!

first of all, thank for all the help and encouragement. I hope to be at the level of your appreciation and models!

arrived the white alu, and having a free afternoon, I tried it on the low wing. seeming to me acceptable, I keep on going on all the kite.
I build it up the color with light passages, trying to be smooth, even and splash-free... obviously it didn't work at 100%, and now I keep it out from my eyes to have the necessary critical mind and fresh eye to judge it.

but you have not this limitation, so have a look and say me how it seems to you, please! :)

upper wing, underside.

upper wing, up side. in the following pics you can see the difference that it's possible to have just tilting the wing in the light...

8555
8556

it seems to me that on the left tip and aileron is needed another light coat..
here on a white sheet:

I think that it will improve with a matt coat on... but for that it's better to wait after the decals, I suppose.
well, for tonight it's all, I think.

read you in the next days, bye! ;)

The new paint and shading look fantastic, Paolo!  The Nieuport is really
starting to look itself with a coat like that.  Good work, my friend. :)

Cheers,
Ernie :)

I think you are coming up with great results. You could quit where you are or.... I tend to be CONSERVATIVE so I would give the wings one more coat,

that's it, gents,
I gave another alu light mist coat, then a future's coat, and decals.
8629

now they are drying from a softner treatment, I hope they will lay on their spots!
8636

then I'll give another coat of future, and finally I may try to correct the insignas.
8627

in fact, since they were for an academy kit (thank you again, LindsayT!) don't fit exactly the roden's wing.
8630

also, I was obliged to made a patchwork to obtain a nungesser's Nieuport... on the tail I used not less than eight decals, in a risky affair of layers over layers.
8624
8625

well, now it's just a matter of waiting...
cheers, p. ;)

The Silver looks just about right, Paolo.  Very nicely done!  You have
made a great job of the decals...I know Academy's decals can really
be a trial to work with. You succeeded with flying colours, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

The final coat of Aluminum made your wings perfect, again IMHO! The decals make them look even better!!
