I always use this for paint converting.

It does a pretty good job.

Wonderful work on the Tripe, Patrick.  You have, I figure captured the PC12
just about perfectly.  Well done, my friend.  I don't know what trouble you
had with the airbrush, but your paint looks great!  The build is coming along
very well. I look forward to the next update.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thank you so much Ernie. I had some spots in the PC12 layer and the final clear coat is not uniform enough due to the airbrush. Maybe I thinned the clear painting not enough for the air-brush. Still learning there. Thank you again for following my build Ernie.

Kind regards
Patrick

Hello Patrick:

The new stick looks the business and really enhances the cockpit, you did a great job on the replacement.  The rest of the model is coming along nicely as well.  I like your PC 12, has a nice rich tone to it.

Best

Hello Mark,

Always nice to here from you. Thank you for your kind comments and I'm glad you like the color. I was afraid it would be a bit to much. Thank you for passing by and hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards
Patrick

Scrumptious, chocolaty goodness, Patrick!  The colors of your Tripe are perfect, the wrap-around on the underside of the wings is just right and if you were having problems with your airbrush, I hope to have the same problems.  Brilliant work, mate!
Cheers,
Bud

Hello all,

Some new pictures. I had quite a bit of trouble with the airbrush. This build comes nowhere close to these of Rick, Chris, Des or Prez, but I'm trying to learn from them. Thank you for looking.

Kind regards
Patrick

Well Patrick, As one of those builds you mention I must say your paintwork looks better than mine and I mean that wholeheartedly! Looking great!

Hello Bud and Rick, thank you! Your comments are very kind as usual! Maybe the camera hides the imperfections that I see on my workbench. But you all give me the encouragement trying to become better. Thank you so much.

Kind regards
Patrick

You're welcome. It does throw up a few odd ones but it's mostly good.

Thanks for the kind words.

Hello Patrick

May I, belatedly, also offer my congratulations on the PC12 you have achieved.

Best wishes

Thank you so much Des and Nigel. I really didn't know I was so close. In future I would like to obtain the same color in Tamiya acrylic paints. It's a bit easier to dose.

Kind regards
Patrick

Hi all,

Referring to the problems Chris encountered assembling the undercarriage of the tripe and the time I already spend looking for a way to fix it, I came to a kind of a solution which might be not right at all.
I measured the distance of the holes in the fuselage were the legs of the undercarriage have to be glued in. This was 20mm. Then I measured the width of the spreader bar and found 42mm. Then I measured approx. the height from spreader bar to fuselage (30mm). This gave me the angle the legs make on the spreader bar which was 70°. Measuring the angle on the drawings of Ian Stair of the tripe in Windsock Datafile (22), I found 70° too. So I made a cardboard template of 70° that can be aligned with the spreader bar and so adjust the angle of the undercarriage legs. Does this make any sense? Who could help me out?
Thank you!

Kind regards
Patrick

Patrick,
That's basically the same method I use for the cabane struts and occasionally the undercarriage on most of my projects, a template is a wonderful aid when it comes to alignment and angles. I'd say you are on the correct track, brilliant!
Cheers,
