Beautiful work so far Bud, the interior looks fantastic, almost a shame to close it up and hide all that extra fine detailing you have done, the reverse lozenge decals really look great.

Thanks, Des!  Unlike Nieuports and Pups, a surprising amount of the interior is visible in the D.VII, even with the top wing on, as you'll soon discover when you build yours.  Now, the engine will be a different matter, as I intend to have her fully cowled.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Rick.  There are some really nice schemes on Pheon's Jasta 18 sheet.

Excellent work Bud! Your interior enhancements and fuselage stitching are beautiful! I am joining my DVII fuselage halves today and have the wings painted white as a base for the Lozenge. Looking forward to your next update.

Super job, Bud! The interior looks first-rate.  I like the treatment of the fuel tank and the
bottom stitching is absolutely right-on.  Yours is a great build to follow along!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

classic, looks great so far bud. really liked the scratched throttle. you shoulda seen my first roden dvii. damn that thing fought me. it was like my 3rd model when i got back in the hobby.before i had a clue on what the stuff looked like. i also made the classic mistake by trying to use the motor framing with the molded on framing on the cowl cheeks. do yourself a favor and sand that crap off and make those cheek panels as thin as possible and with some test fitting it will turn out really nice. funny thing was i knew nothing about lozenge. this was before i was even a member at the drome so i didnt understand how the lozenge was gonna work i thought it was gonna look bad laying the bolts side by side so i spent extra time trimming selected polygons from the edges of the pattern so that when i overlapped them it looked as if the pattern contiued repeating in one piece. i think i thought they were painted on so the strips didnt make sense to my ignorant head. ah the things we do, haha

Thanks, Scott, and thanks for the tip on the cowling.  This kit is a bit more fiddly than the Eduard kit, but I like the detail just a little better.
Cheers,
Bud

Hi Bud,

Very good choice, Roden is superb kit, better as Eduard. And your superb hand. Good start.

Cheers,

Vladimir

Thank you, Vladimir!  The engine in the Roden kit is much better, as well, although it would still need a bit of work if I were leaving the cowling off.  I'm using your lozenge on the undersides of the wings since that is the only place the lozenge is exposed. On the fuselage, tail and upper surfaces, I'm using some old Eduard lozenge since it will be painted over.
Cheers,
Bud

Your job in the interior and in those little details it's first class, a real joy to my eyes.

Simply superb Bud.
