WNW DVII
« on: August 15, 2013, 05:21:25 AM »
Here are a couple of pictures of the cockpit of my DVII.  Still picking out and adding details.  This build is a fun challenge and a far cry from figure painting!

I shall never forget my admiration for that German pilot, who single handed, fought seven of us for ten minutes. I saw him go into a fairly steep dive and so I continued to watch, and then saw the triplane hit the ground and disappear into a thousand fragments...James McCudden

Yes, very nice Kreston,

I'll be very interested to see the artistic spin you put on this..

Thanks for the kind words. I am going to get the fuselage closed up today and order a figure or two to go with it!

The cockpit looks great, but now I want to see some of your figures too.

I ordered a couple of the Cockpit Wings figures including the pilot designed to sit in the DVII cockpit.  I contacted Steve Warrilow (a long time friend) who sculpted the kits and he assured me that with a little wiggle and a slight push forward on the stick and the figure should slide right in. I am leaving the leather cushion out until I see how the pilot fits.

As the build starts to come together I wanted a little preview to fuel the fire so I temporarily snapped the lower wing in place.
Still have to do a slight bit of putty work on the top fuselage join but not much.
