In my never ending quest for the esoteric, I added 3 more to my stash over the last couple weeks.
Well, this one isn't all that exotic, but considering the fact that I have 3 Eduard Camels in my stash, it may seem like an odd purchase. I actually like this kit as much as the Eduard kit and will use it for something special.
This one caught my eye and I ordered it as soon as it showed up at Hannants. Really an odd-ball kite that I can't wait to build. It's really quite nice, for a Spin kit.
The resin is beautifully cast and, aside from the usual very thin flash, really clean. Surface detail is crisp...
and the fuselage is nice and thin, as are the trailing edges of the wings.
It's got some very nice little bits, as well. Those dark rod like thingies in the upper left hand corner are 3 green plastic coated wires to be used as struts. The only flaw in an otherwise flawless kit.

Since that last post ate up so much space, I figured I'd better continue on another post.
The last, but certainly not least, of the trio was inspired by Dan's (ninetythirdliberator) spectacular build. I'm really looking forward to building this one. Using Dan's and Peter Plattner's builds as references, along with the Datafile and the book on A/H Army aircraft, I'll start this one as soon as the Halbies are done.
Okay. That was a boring photo. Sorry.
This will have to be replaced. Maybe.
Cheers,
Bud

They all look interesting, Bud. I'm selfishly hoping you can get to them all right away. I can't wait to see what you're going to do with them. The Kondor is something I've never seen before - that should be fun. The CI is not very popular, so it will be nice to see that one built for a second time on the forum. The Camel has me really intrigued. After the interesting schemes you were able to dig up for the Nieuports that you recently did, I think we're in for a treat. Can't wait for the show to start, buddy.

I'm really excited about all six of them, but I think the one I want to do next is the HB C.I. This is the scheme I'd really like to try and replicate. I'll never come close to what Peter Plattner achieved, but I'm sure gonna try.
Cheers,
Bud

Nice one, Bobby! I hope you don't have to make those spoked wheels with monofilament.

Osprey's Aircraft of the Aces "Naval Aces of WWI Vol 2", "Austro-Hungarian Albatros Aces of WWI", and their "DH2 vs. Albatros DI/DII" books in brand new condition for the princely sum of $32! Got them at a Vendor's table at the IPMS Canada Western Regional Show and Contest. Had to go outside the venue to do my little "Happy Dance" to ensure no damage to the entries and my pride! I'll do up an informal report and photos in a week or so, great show!

We just had an IPMS regional, with a swap meet, and there were NO WNW kits for sale. (or roden) I did get some good books, and a few kits, but nothing WWI was to be seen, except in the contest room, which had some outstanding work.

I'm looking forward to seeing you build this one, Mietek. I've been curious about these kits, but wanted to find out what others thought of them before pulling the trigger.
