This arrived, from the USA, on Thursday. I bought it from Scott, of this parish, for a reasonable price but the Royal Mail demanded Eight pounds from me, as a 'Handling Fee' and HM Govt. another Four in VAT (Value added tax) before they would hand it over.  >:(

Is that the ugliest aeroplane of WW1 or what?  :o

Haha, I'm glad someone finally said it. I've never been a fan of Junkers. I think they're all pretty ugly! ;D

I like its sleek fuslage and Brandenburg style tail.The wings dont look strong enough to.Britain never made anything like this in later years asfar as I know.I think the Russians were more interested in German design.
 My candidate for "Ugly" is the Blackburn torpedo plane Karaya make one.

Just rambling  :)

Even if it is a 1/72 it looks like a fantastic kit, I just had a look on Eduard's shop...

In the meantime three new kits sea-landed on my table:


The MC 72 is an original 1970's kit, it was the first kit I ever made, christmas present 1972 I believe...

I look forward to find a Supermarine S.6B in 48...

Yes Des, it is a great model, sharp details in spite of its tiny dimension.
I plan to build the Roland Garros version (Took part in the 1st Schneider Cup, Monaco 1913)
the Sopwith "Schneider" won the 2nd edition still in Monaco the year after.

The Macchi model is a very basic kit and needs a lot of work, but has a great detail on it:

Hi,

these beauties arrived from Fred Hultberg yesterday.

Gorgeous  photo-etched details from the FOTOCUT range, including some really tiny 'washers', nuts & bolts etc.







What I really like about these, besides the 'jewel-like' quality, is the lack of a fret. As Fred told me, these are genuine photo-etchings not a product of chemical milling. No awkward little burs to deal with.

Recommended.
