Thanks very much for all your kind comments, they are much appreciated.

The top wing is now fixed and I have started the rigging, I am using 0.12mm monofilament and brass tube all held together with CA. This aircraft has double flying wires and double landing wires so there will be quite a bit of rigging. Once the rigging is completed I will add the outrigger struts which will hold the wing tip of the top wing, these struts are about 75mm long and are angled at 45 degrees.

Here is a size comparison with the WnW Sopwith Snipe, the very long top wing makes the Caudron look big but when put beside a single seat fighter it is not a big aeroplane at all, and it's a two seater.

You're outdoing yourself on this one Des. Another museum quality build for sure.

Looking great, Sir.

Did they double up on the training version only?

I have quite forgotten if the standard service type had doubled wires.

Thanks Old Man, it is a bit difficult to work out the rigging system on this aeroplane, I have a lot of information and photos and it is half half, so I decided to go with the double wires, besides that, I love doing the rigging so the more the better. Most of the in sevice types I have seen have double flying wires but not the double landing wires, but there are some cases where both exist, so it's a guessing game. It's a bit like the wheels, some show them as being uncovered while others are covered, and the propeller type is different depending on the use of the aeroplane, all these things make scratch building fun.  ???

The wing rigging is now finished, I also added the outrigger struts, these are also made from bamboo.

Incredible, Des!

Did you find there was a lot of back-and-forth on the rigging tension? Rig one end the other goes slack?

Thanks Lindsay for your comments, much appreciated.

I only had one set of rigging that went a bit slack, all I did was to apply a little heat from a soldering iron and tension was regained.

Wonderful spiderweb Des, are the outrigger struts bamboo skewers?

Yes Andrew, I turned them down to 2.0mm to be the same size as the toothpicks, they were then sut to length and shaped, they are 75mm long but very strong.
