Wow, Vicker's!  You've made phenomenal progress over the last 24 hours! ;) This is shaping up to be an extraordinary beauty.  Your cockpit and engine work are brilliant and I really like the way your wood grain turned out.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks for the comments, everyone.  Bud, I must confess that I've been working on this one since early February and taking photos, but have been negligent in getting them posted.

Kinnies,  the RB masks are pretty easy to use- I just taped off every other panel and selected different areas of the p/e mask to spray through.  The colors I used actually laid down more dark and intense than I'd intended, so the varnish over them had to be laid on a little bit more opaque than I planned.  Next time, I will lighten and thin the paints a bit more.

Sorry for chiming in so late. Your DV is a stunning build from the inside out. Great work on the added interior details, your wood grain, the overall painting, and of course the masked markings!

Vickers,
That wood grain effect and the overall tone are stunning; I have the templates and having seen your work here I'll definitely be using them. Beautiful Alby in the works here, looking forward to more.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the comments, friends.  This update will bring the photos currrent.  The lower wings, landing gear, ailerons, and Tiger Models exhaust pipe have been attached and some Tamiya powders applied for initial highights and toning down some of the black areas:

The wood on the fuselage has turned out extremely well, it is a lovely colour. Could you tell me what paint you used for the black on the tail and the nose of the aircraft, it looks really good.

Thanks again, guys.  Des, normally I prefer Floquil's Engine Black from their R/R colors line.  However, I ran out recently so I used Model Master Aircraft IP Black on this one. It does the job, but I find it a little tricky to thin and doesn't perform as smoothly through the airbrush as the Floquil. Doesn't brush on very well, either.

That's one beautiful Alby, Vickers!  Your work is immaculate, and I love the paint scheme, lozenge and wood effect. ;D  Very well done!

Thanks again for the kind appraisals of my efforts, Friends.  I'm currently into the rigging, definitely not the time to be getting the coffee shakes!

This one is getting together into a fantastic Albatros model! I love these natural wood fuselages with those black-white personal markings. Looks great!
