Superb, Andi!  This is going to be a stunner.  Your treatment of the painted cowling is outstanding and the oil staining is spot on.  I think that leaving clean paint where the logos once were is brilliant.  However, if you feel that you must have them, they can be had here:
http://www.plastic-hobby.com/product/morane-saulnier-logo-1-32:21517/
or from Tom's Model Work, if I remember correctly.
Cheers,
Bud

Some one on one of the forums had made decals in 1/32 for the Morane-Saulnier, but I can't seem to remember who. They looked good too.

Slow or quick what`s the difference mate? build the way you like it/are able to...
Your MS N looks extremely nice! I like it very much. Don`t be afraid to make her dirty a little bit more around the nose since the rotary engine was a really messy contraption... Burnt castor oil was thrown away so that it even could produce a solid residue on the fuselage and wings which was scraped off. Also the cowling and the spinner`s paint chipped off, to be accurate it flaked of the parts (due to its poor quality - the paint of course)...
About the Pup - if the time`s right we may start up a little group project - yours in 1/32 and mine in 1/48...
Best regards
Filip

Andi,

Your Morane-Saulnier looks very good to me.  I think the finish you have on the black cowling is excellent.  Keep up good work.

Just catching up with this one. She looks great. Acrylic hobby clear coat (and paints) are fairly "weak." The heat from your hands can soften them quite quickly. Thinning them with laquer thinners makes them harder, glossy and they dry faster but there are the other side effects. Spraying laquers are the only option as well. Spraying acrylic with the "recommended" thinners does not change their hardness. Another option is to wear a  thin cotton or latex glove while handling the model-its practical AND eligant :D.  I have the Tom's pe set and it is very good.

Tiniest of updates............ more as proof that I'm still lurking in the background - and of course playing about a bit.

Not a lot of difference between this set of pic's and the last lot? - But really to show off my "stringy-wirey bits" (can you say that nowadays)?

And a quick shot to show more wirey bits and that I've softened the weathering on the wings -I'll get to a point when i can do this first time ... but now I've an airbrush that works it's taking a while to see what it can do?

Ooops - now I review the photo I see that you can't see anything of the wings ... so check out the cheeks of the cowling and hopefully notice a mix of castor and muck'n'dirt down the sides?

Here's a better pic' of the wings with some wear and tear down the fuselage - this is definitely not a "Hanger Queen".
.............. As mentioned elsewhere - I likes 'em a bit mucky!!!

Laters................

This is shaping up beautifully Andi. Why, I could almost start to like the type N. Steady now, I only said could!

Seriously, though, very well done and I really look forward to further updates.

Best wishes
Nigel

Hello Andy:

Love the metal affects on the cowl and spinner.  The Mucking is nice too, but you nailed tack on cranium with the metal.  Looking forward the next update.  And yes you can say that now days.

Best

I agree with Steve and will add that your rigging is coming along nicely!

Beautiful work Andi, and the cables look really good, what are you using for rigging, did you paint the wires ?

S'cuse the delay in getting back to you Andonio, and thanks for your kind comments ... I am starting to very slowly understand the shift in thinking that I've needed to make in order to work in this genre of modelling ... however the rigging is nothing at all special but rather a series of techniques I've picked up here.
To wit: The rigging itself is just haberdashers "invisible thread, calibrating at 0.13mm" this is then given a fairly dry coat of Mr Metalcolour "stainless"
The fastenings are again the well advised 0.5 Brass tube - I used 0.4 on the tail rigging but I struggled like the blazes to make that work, a combination of my poor eyesight and a simple lack of dexterity I'm sure. The anchors in all cases are 5amp fusewire spun into an "eye and tail" arrangement .... and there you have it - at best I think the pictures flatter to deceive, but I'll gladly welcome the encouragement.

Cheers all.................
