Hello everyone,
Here is my first completion for 2026, the Eduard 1/72 SPAD X.III C1 (Early) weekend edition. I failed to complete this one for the Group Build but have persevered to get her done none the less!

This one is built straight out of the box, save for the addition of some seat belts made from tape. The build log for this one is here ?
https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=15118.0The model is painted in the markings of SPAD X.III S.504, flown by Capitaine Georges Guynemer, who was arguably France?s most beloved ace of the first world war. Scoring 53 confirmed victories, Guynemer was one of the first pilots to fly the SPAD X.III in combat. He was assigned this machine in late August / early September 1917, was shot down and killed in this machine on September 11, 1917. The markings come with the weekend edition boxing, and I used these here.
The model was painted primarily using SMS acrylic lacquers, with the rigging done in various grades of elastic. Weathering was kept light given the relatively short service life of this aircraft.

Overall Eduard did a lovely job with the engineering of this kit; it certainly shows off the SPAD?s sturdy lines well!
Feedback, comments and suggestions for improvement always welcomed!
Cheers,
Brad C
