That?s a sharp looking engine Prze. I can see how thin those cooling fins are on each cylinder. It must be very delicate to handle. Pleased to see that it fits in the cowling.

Thanks for watching.

Yes, the cooling fins ARE delicate. I remember my first attempt to these engines, when cutting one cylinder from the casting block I damaged them while holding it in my fingers. Since then I do not touch them at all, except for a moment they are glued to the crankcase - I hold them really delicately then.

And in the meantime electricity connected and the push rods under way. The latter ones are time consuming because the length of each one has to be adjusted to the position of the valve rocker.

The engine looks gorgeous, beautiful work! I don't envy you having to work with such delicate parts but you're doing a terrific job.

Thank you!

The engine is now fully complete with the dirt, still fitting the cowling even after it was painted alu inside  ;)

Also, the work on interior is well underway. BTW, if you think that Tripehound does not have much rigging, you maybe stunned... There are 36 rigging lines in the interior plus 12 control lines... The turnbuckles are present, too.  :)

Good news that the painted engine fits! It looks great.

Your attention to detail is admirable. My remaining life is too short to bother with adding turnbuckles in places that will never be seen....... ;)  :)

Thanks!

But, but, but, all those tbs will be seen, either through cockpit opening or through the tail skid  opening.   ;)

You are so right, rigging is hell in that tiny thing. Wait for the control lines...  8)
But you are doing a phantastic job so far. That will be the next jewel in your collection  :)

Funny you mention the control lines exactly at the moment I was struggling with the rudder bar ones 😁

Here just before attaching it

And here with the rudder bar fit and also the aileron rocker attached.
