Pfalz D.III exterior question

Just wondering if the Pfalz exterior would show nail heads like the Albatross or was the same unique to the Albi?

Hi Chuck ,

To answer your question ...No there no nails like on the Albbies .

Once the two halves of the fuselage were joined , it was wrapped in linen ,  the seems got taped over and sealed . Painted to seal and water proof it .

Hi Chuck,

Alexis is absolutely correct.
The Pfalz D.III/D.IIIa, D.VIII, D.XII had clean hulls without nails and screws.

Only a few screws, for example the screws on the hinges of the maintenance hatches and on the outer metal fittings where the seat belts are attached on the inside.

However, you should not forget that the longitudinal seams on the fuselage - i.e. where the sealing tape was glued over it - are visible.
Here is a nice picture of it, directly behind the edge of the cockpit you can faintly make out the glued-on fabric sealing tape:
