Thanks to all of you!  :)

However, today I need a little bit advice regarding the scarf ring. WnW instrudtion tells me to do it entirely either in light blue or dark blue. And that is also the colouring which you find typically on Salmson 2-A2 models.

Now, here is a picture of the Salmson, I'm trying to rebuild:

To me the ring looks metallically shiny.

BAnd beside many pictures with dark rings, you can find also following pictures:

Now here is my interpretation (only dry fit, could be easily changed):

Does my approach make sense or is it bulshit and the ring was always completely painted, at least in a light colour?

Thanks for your advice.

Best Regards,
Rafael

Shame there isn't a picture looking down on the ring. Yes, the sides definitely look metallic but is the flat surface on the top of the ring painted? Personally I would do the sides metallic, the top of the ring and the other parts that move on top of it the dark blue WNW suggest or gunmetal.

Thanks a lot Alan!  :)

Just pure coincidence, but yesterday evening I had the idea to search youtube for some Salmson footage. And geuss what, there are some impressive minutes of film available.

Just take a look on the following video, especially starting at t=36s

Or here, starting at t=27s

Or this video:

In the end I think my approach is OK. Also the upper side could have been metalic. For the rest... I will sleep a night over it and consider, if gunmetal could be the better option (instead of light blue).

Best Regards
