That looks like progress to me. Those Roden 1/72 kits can be a bit tough, so well done for persevering and it looks like you are doing a great job.

Thanks guys,
Unfortunately progress is still slow, but at least SOMETHING is being done!

Slowly but surely! I have to admit I haven't been idle at the bench, but most of the time has gone on the Jag (and not much to show there either!)

Anyway, I finally got the underside ribs masked and CDL sprayed.

Now I can get that masked off for the PC10. The tricky bit is the overlap under the edges, but it has to be done!

And that, I'm afraid, is all for this time!
More next time I hope!

It may be slow progress, but it is Good Progress! The ribs look terrific and your CDL is spot on!

I have not had a lot of time recentlt Ian and have missed out on much of this GB. However it is good to see that you have made some progress with a kit in God's Own Scale - and it does look good. Best of luck with the overlap under the wing leading edges - always something I dread to paint.

Stephen.

I really must pay more attention to updates here!

I have been doing "stuff", but for some reason haven't been posting it. So this is intended to put that right.

First then, masking for the PC10.

aaand.... PAINT!

After that, some touch ups were needed for the PC10 where the masking foam stuck out slightly too far, and black around the engine, along with detail painting. Not that much to be honest, but black needed for the vents on the underside of the engine and the radiator, then some leather for the cockpit coaming.

The wing joint plates were done with a fine black marker as that was far easier than trying to paint them. 2 more still to do each side for the upper wing flying wires.

Then it was time to start looking at some of the details. This is what we are given for the Aldis sight.

I don't think so, somehow!
So, out with some brass rod, tube, and scraps of PE to come up with the component parts for a new sight.

The sight itself:

and the mounts, checked for fit:

In the hope that I can avoid losing them, and to make them easier to paint, I CAd them to a toothpick

The final job done to date, was drilling all the rigging holes.

Fuselage, tail, and lower wings also done!

Next job then, will be to paint the parts for the sight and attach them, paint the rudder, and prepare the wing struts!

See you soon, I hope!

Thanks for looking in!

Great stuff.

I find these things a real challenge in 1/32, but in 1/72?

Kudos.

Sorry I missed your update earlier. The sight and mount look great. I am sure they will be even better in situ! I love the colors also!

Looks great Ian.  Nice work on the subtle rib effects.
Looking forward to seeing how you apply the diamond pattern on the upper surface.
