That's looking very nice indeed. And another lovely instrument panel! That is one of the great things about 1/32 scale, things like the instrument panel can look very realistic.

Absolutely lovely work, Przemo, your painting skills are a source of constant wonder.

Regarding the camera, I think we can safely assume that if the instructions called for those colo(u)rs, it's because somewhere in a climate-controlled warehouse belonging to Peter Jackson, there are a half-dozen originals sitting on a shelf that the WnW team had to use for reference. Richie W posted a photo of the Type C a few months ago in his epic BE.2 build:



Slightly more red finish, maybe, which would photograph on orthochromatic film as looking very dark like the ones Spyros posted. So maybe both interpretations are right...?

I have followed the colour guide from the WNW instruction. Maybe there were various colour versions. Anyway, I think I will leave mine as it is.

Although there was obviously some variation in colors on the L Type camera, Prezmo's looks pretty good to me

The holidays are over and I am back to reality. Luckily, it also includes modeling.
I did the cockpit assembly and dryfit the innards into the fuselage halves. The fit is fine, the slots will disappear with a small pressure and quick glue.

Beautiful work, Przemo. It's somewhat startling to realize how far aviation progressed during the Great War; both began as observation machines, but this large "office" crammed with gear is a world away from my little Eindecker with its handful of instruments and two tiny trap doors in the floor.

You are right, the cockpits of early and late WW1 aircraft differed a lot.

As for Canary Islands, I read the name came from Latin word 'canis', i.e. the dog. There are indeed no canaries there. Yet, I have not seen too many dogs, except for the ones brought there by tourists.

And, yes, thank you, the holidays were fantastic - we love such a tropical break in the middle of winter cold and greyness.

Was the control column of the observer's station fixed or removable? And if so, how was it stored?
In Bombing configuration, was the camera taken away?

I can answer the first question. Indeed the observer control column was removable and it was stored on a shelf on the left side of the cockpit - WNW kit has this option.
As for the camera in the bomber variant - I do not know if it was present or removed. I would guess it depended on the mission type.

The fuselage is put together, the seams are being treated. After 10 years since my first DH.9 I have forgotten the weird technological break out of it and overly tight tolerances designed by WNW. It will take some time before I am happy with those...
