Nailed it ::) ! That is a very subtle but effective addition to the build.

Beautiful wood effect. Interesting technique using acrylic paint for the wood texture. I have not been able to do that.  Very realistic nail work as well.

One step forward, two steps back. I was naive to think that the thin carrier film of nail heads would disappear under the coat of varnish. It did not... >:(

It was not long before I made the decision to scrape it all (except the part under the wing spars where I did not place the nails decals)...

... and repaint...

... and for the nail heads I will be using the HGW decals with peelable transfer film. They have just arrived.  :)

Excellent recovery from the decal film edge.  I’m sure you will have better outcomes with the new product.

I can only imagine the disappointment you felt with the carrier film but bravo for carrying out the fix and powering through - I have little doubt the end result will be well worth the extra effort.

I read in WDF 99 that every Lohner seems to have had at least one complete overhaul in their service career.
So in this way you just did what is historicaly correct.
Great rescue!

Great save! That must have been so frustrating but the situation has been recovered beautifully.

Thanks, Zac and Richie. And yes, I am happier now. Especially that I finished nailing. And added the hull markings. Now to add all those PE fittings.
