Rumpler 6B1 Formaplane
« on: June 12, 2022, 01:49:21 AM »
Hi Guys! this is Rumpler 6b1 Marinenummer 899,signed to Borkum Seeflugstation..to the factory- finish overall grey  later in it's career were added blotches of a darker colour.

The Formaplane vacu kit is quite accurate except the Rudder, which is too small .I scratched that from Plastic sheet, all struts are squashed brass tube and plastic profiles.

Congrats on this one. Note easy to get a vacform looking good and this one's a cracker  ;D

How do you squash your brass tube by the way? I've found the very thin stuff is too small to squash flat in the vice so I resorted to hammering and filing

Thanks Paul! Squashing 0.8mm. Brass tn a vice works quite wel I think...it might help to put some 0.3-00.5mm steel wire in ..

I entirely agree with the above - what a super model. And yes: more pictures of the overall Seeflugstation - I know that it is huge and a real masterpiece - so don't tease us!

Lovely!  This is great inspiration to get into some of those vacforms in the stash.  Thanks.

What a wonderful build, and a vac to boot!  Also, great work on the figures, WWI German naval figures are not exactly easy to source. ;)
