Nice pic Simon. It sure appears to be original.
In the Datafile it shows pics of D.2225/18 at the second fighter competition. One of the unique things about this aircraft is the fact that the tailplane is like the D-VIa model with an unbalanced elevator. The elevator also appears to be painted a solid dark color (black?). This is also the same aircraft that has the shield/castle herald markings on the fuselage. The current display of they aircraft in Krakow, Poland shows that the shield marking has been removed, it plausible that they also removed the dark color from the elevator, back to its original 4 color lozenge.
Simon, is it possible that you can tell us more about the restoration process on the aircraft?
