Fly Roland D-VIb

I starting my build of the Fly Roland D-VIb kit and am just looking for input for anyone here who may have built this kit. Any pitfalls to look out for in advance? etc.
Ive already noticed that the instructions show the assembly only of the Mercedes engine, but I have the kit with the Benz III engine.

Another quick question.

I know that Roland used the 4 color lozenge and if I understand correctly from reading "Lozenge 101" Roland didn't use the pink or blue rib tapes.

Should the rib tapes be natural linen?

Nice pic Simon. It sure appears to be original.

In the Datafile it shows pics of D.2225/18 at the second fighter competition. One of the unique things about this aircraft is the fact that the tailplane is like the D-VIa model with an unbalanced elevator. The elevator also appears to be painted a solid dark color (black?). This is also the same aircraft that has the shield/castle herald markings on the fuselage. The current display of they aircraft in Krakow, Poland shows that the shield marking has been removed, it plausible that they also removed the dark color from the elevator, back to its original 4 color lozenge.

Simon, is it possible that you can tell us more about the restoration process on the aircraft?

Here is a pic of D.2225/18 in the Krakow museum which shows the unbalanced elevator. Also note the red color stripes on the cylinders of the Benz-III engine and the laminations on the prop are barely visible.

It is difficult to say whether it is an original canvas, it looks pretty old. I not have too much information about the restoration process  this aircraft, It was quite a few years ago. I know, that the fuselage was quite heavily damaged.
I send a few interesting photos of this Roland and sorry for my weak English ;)

Outstanding photos my friend. She's one beautiful kite and a most intresting type. I actually prefer the Rol. D.VIa/b to the Fokker D.VII in appearence.
