1/48 Eduard Albatros D.III 253 (Oeffag)

Hi all!
This is my latest build (and my first in here). It's an Eduard 1/48 Albatros D.III 253 (Oeffag) from the Limited edition box "Viribus Unitis". I find these Austo-Hungarian subjects very interesting. I built this OOB except GasPatch Models' turnbuckles and Uschi Van Der Rosten's rigging line. A small windshield was cut from a 1/72 car-model kit. For the first time I tried to create a plywood surface with oils (I did have some HGW decals for backup... ::)) . The effect is quite subtle but I'm pleased how it came out.

This build represents an Albatros flown by first lieutenant Ludwig Hautzmayer (FliK 61/J) in Ghirano, Northern Italy during summer 1918.

That is a Beautiful Albatros! I Love the subtle wood grain, Perfect for the scale! Thanks for Posting and Welcome to the Forum.

That is a beautiful model, particularly for 1/48 scale.  Very well done!  I enjoy the Austro-Hungarian aircraft as well.

Super model! The wood and linen effects are just right - subbtle but on the nail. The weathered red of the nose is also extremely effective.

Very nice Albatros. I like the fuselage colour and weathering even as the wings.
I am building Hautzmayer's Albatros too (153.32) so it was an interesting experience to watch Your model.
