Here are the
Phönix D.I to D.III
thread which was not yet created even we have some models of this type in our forum, mostly in 1/48 and 1/72.
The D.I - D.III are very comparable, so one thread seems to be enough.
Here is the wikipedia link fro information about this aircraft:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ph%C3%B6nix_D.I
Let me begin with my build of a
Phönix D.I K.u.K. Kriegsmarine
from a Special Hobby 1/48 kit.

Your Model makes an Awesome beginning for this thread! Beautiful as always! By the way I am glad to see you included a link to your build thread as Des originally intended for these Show Us threads. Many forget to do so!

Thank you Rick!
It is not really a build thread, because I have done it before entering this great forum. But yes, as compensation I added also some pictures of the build to the gallery.
Hope to see more models in this thread soon.
Cheers,
Frank

PHÖNIX D.I: pilot Karl Urban who used this plane for his fifth and final victory: on 19 May 1918 he downed an Italian fighter, probably a Hanriot HD.1. (source Wikipedia).
He belonged to Flik 14J based at Feltre (Near Belluno in northeast ITALY!) during Austrian occupation.
19 May is my birthday!
The kit was really good, apart from the struts I had to remake from scratch, everything was OK: decals, pieces and photoetched fret included.

What an excellent and inspirational assortment of Phonix builds in this thread! These are fantastic and of great help to me as I build the Special Hobby Phonix 1.
I can't show a completed model yet but here's my project as it stands today in the camouflage stippling phase.
I'm using Vallejo burnt umber over a base of Citadel tausept ochre, using a brush for the stipple finish.
The other builds in this thread are my go-to references for what has become a fun project . Aligning the top wing and rigging may change that view but this model does reward patience.

Frank, Andonio, Dave B and Dave W, these are some outstanding models. The Phonix D.I is one of my favorite Austro-Hungarian aircraft and you've done it great service. Here's mine, the Blue Max 1/48 D.I.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud, your K.u.K Kriegsmarine interpretation is also nice, as all the other Phönix machines in this thread.
I find the slight differences between the kits and builds quite interesting.
