That engine looks like it just came off the assembly line Des. Immaculate! I always marvel at how you're able to position those ignition wires so precisely without any kinks, and all of them virtual mirror images of each other. Superb!

Time for another little update. As most of these Hannover kits will be built with lozenge decals I have chosen to be different, I went for option E in the Wingnuts instructions. This aircraft was believed to have been from a training unit, it was used to teach the observer how to use the camera, the radio and/or the machine gun, my aircraft will have all three so my observer has to be a quick learner. The photos show the model still sporting it's full gloss finish, this will be dulled down with a coat of satin clear. I have followed the instruction paint guide supplied by Wingnuts, the only variation was that I substituted the Tamiya XF76 for Humbrol 95. The kit has gone together beautifully, all parts fit perfectly and the detail is amazing, the kit is so easy to put together that the build moves along very quickly.

Great choice with the training scheme Des, as those above have said - a nice clean look. Those students need to keep these beauties clean!!

It's not so much the clean look I was after but more something away from the norm. Most of my models are done with a camo scheme so this model, along with the Bristol M1.c are my first two trainer schemes.

I tell you what guys, if you haven't purchased this kit yet it would be a great move if you did, it is a brilliant kit, one of Wingnuts best, I put it on par with their Bristol Fighter. This kit goes together so easy, it could even be recommended as a great starter kit for anyone wanting to build their first WW1 bi-plane. The rigging on this aeroplane is very basic so should not cause any issues. It's not the prettiest looking plane ever designed but it certainly holds it place among the classic WW1 aircraft types.

Good point on the scheme, my thinking is that so much is open to interpretation on the camouflaged birds that not many will look alike. I guess we'll see....

I like your chosen scheme.  I am surprised how rapidly this is going together for you.  I buttoned up the fuselage last night and will be doing some sanding, painting etc. today and tomorrow.

I was thinking of doing this scheme, I like the polish markings on the side, and the trainers are something that aren't your garden variety scheme, but; I like the Bavarian scheme and will go with that.
