And I agree with them: your photos betray nothing of the trials you went through. Beautiful!

Hi there,

A few months ago, I made the brackets from brass scrap, cut with chisels, and drilled to be inserted at the end of each of the masts (0.5mm). Holes of 0.3mm are also drilled to accommodate the struts when the time comes.

It should make my work easier for the struts, and it's a big plus in my opinion.

And today I started installing them:

In detail:

All that remains is to do the same for the lower wing.

See you soon!

Thank you very much!

Normally, everything's in place to start installation of the upper wing.

It's not too bad.

The cabin struts aren't glued on the photo, but they're exactly on the right axis and perpendicular.

I gave it a try, and the top wing sits nicely on these 4 struts. The anguish for me will be the installation of the 8 interplane struts  ....

I've never built a model with so many struts.

And then.... Pray for me  ;D .... You can't go wrong

Hi there!

You're all too kind, and it's far from finished!  :)
I'll be satisfied when it's finished! For now, there's still a long way to go!  :-X

Well, after several hours of fumbling, grumbling, breaking, unsticking, redoing etc, I think this should do it.

It's almost too rigid. I don't know how else to explain it. I'm hoping that the interplane rigging will prevent some of the struts from detaching under tension.

The two posterior cabane masts were a hair too long, and impossible to get them off the fuselage. I had to cut half a millimeter off their wing tips with pliers, without being able to attach them before the other struts. In short, I had a hard time...

I'll be able to move on to the rigging soon! This is an important stage in the assembly. The one that had me shaking in anticipation with this old Bluemax kit. Probably my most difficult assembly to date.

See you soon!

In spite of the difficulty you have done a magnificent job. Keep the Faith, you will conquer the rigging.

Fantastic work! I really like you making your own brackets, and the result as well! Would you mind detailing the manufacturing of those a little bit more?

I had missed these new posts: incredible work with the brackets - my hat off to you. Having some experience with Gunbuses in different scales I can only congratulate you on getting the struts to line up so well - that is no mean achievement. Brilliant modelling.
