I agree with Alexis: that joint looks good to me. And is anyone going to be able to look underneath when it is finished?

Stephen.

I nearly missed this update, Rick!

Glad you got the wing roots sorted out and I can certainly imagine that this was not an easy fix so well done, mate.

Dave

Richard, Thanks for the details on the "Pivoting" wing. I am aware of that single spar and have a great photo of the attachment. Alternate Plan C was to leave the lower wings off and add the detail to the fuselage  ;D

Not a bad turn out on the lower wings Rick . Once the clean up is done no one will never know . Awesome !

Alexis

Thanks Alexis, we shall see how it looks once painted. Like I said the photos are a bit deceptive. There is a gap left between the fuselage and wings. I just tried to get it narrowed down, especially on the right wing!

Thanks Dave. Like I said earlier it was moving too quickly on My cuts that created the issue. Patience is not one of My Strong Points  ::)

Great looking progress on this bird, Rick. Lovely fuselage shade. And, well I counted 30 WWI biplanes in your cabinets, hats off!  :)
Best regards,

Rick, this a heck of a lot better than you seem to think. Like Alexis said, once you've done the finishing touches it will be absolutely fine. The paintwork is to your usual high standard. Was that pre or post shading to get the tonal variation? I like the effect very much.

I have more or less finished the lower wing fit issue. Didn't go as well as I had hoped but it will have to do! I also have done oil dot filters to weather. Next up is adding the fabric strips to the interplane struts then rigging. I also did the sheild marking...again not as easy as I thought and a little rough!

I love it Rick !

She is looking fantastic and I think you did a fine job on the wing root area of the lower wings . Also have to mention that your filter for the weathering is also eye catching and is just the right amount .  :)

I'm really pleased you succeeded in getting the wings on - I totally failed here.   I've now filed your method as I'm now tempted to have another go at this one.

This will look superb when done

Dave,
My method for mounting the wings was sound. My Impatience was Not. It will work as long as one glues the upper wing in place, glues the interplane dtruts, lets them dry, and Then Measures the lower wing!

So today I was inspired and did all of the Major rigging lines. Next up I will paint the wires and add Smoke and Mirrors Turnbuckles  8)

Congratulations on your success with the lower wing - I knew that you would be able to do it. The finish and rigging are first class - and another super model is shortly going to land in your display cabinet. Am looking forward to seeing the finished model pics.

Stephen.
