Thanks for the heads up Syd! I've seen this series, but don't own any of them. I know, I know, a man can never be too rich, have too many kits, or too many good research books. Does his book on the Pup surpass the Datafile? I have, like most, a limited budget and limited real estate on the bookshelf.

WD,
As for the Sopwith Pup, the Willis book is way ahead of the original DF No.2, but not up to the later WS Datafile Special by J M Bruce. Bruce’s text and photographs are well referenced whereas the Willis book does not do this; in fact there isn’t even a bibliography or listing of sources, as far as I can tell. The Bruce has plans (by Simkin) in both 1/48 and 1/72, whereas Willis has only 1/48 (by Caruana).
The DF Special has more detail drawings and photos, while the Willis has about twice as many (and better IMO) profiles. Both titles are very slim (about 50 pages) so bookshelf space shouldn’t be an issue. Happily, I was able to afford both the original DF and the DF Special and the Willis over the years.
Cheers
Syd
