One must be 'one with the tool'   ;D

Hope you can fix that.  If nothing went wrong on my builds, they would take half the time.

Yous votes of confindence are most welcomed , thanks guys !

It's just a matter of sanding the are between the engine frame and respraying . An easy fix once I had a better look at damage it was just the paint , no gouges in the metal itself . Luck was on my side at that time . Should have this done buy the end of the day . Colder weather is coming so will be home more .

Patrick , most times I do well with the dremel tool , I should have used a better bit for the job .

Progress hasn't been very productive over the past few days , but I did manage to spend time on the project .

Undercarriage is ready for weathering now , took me some time masking the wheels this time around . Just couldn't stay focused on the task at hand .

Cowl is repaired with the engine framing painted black and tackled the lozenge on the wings . Top and bottom are ready for rib tapes . The lozenge decals are transparent but I stayed away from shading in the ribs . In this scale with the amount of ribs this would have not looked natural giving it an over done appearance . I will be doing the tapes in blue for the top and bottom , transparent lozenge won't work and will make it look very weird .

Lovely progress on this very interesting plane, Alexis! The lozenge is coming along beautifully, the undercarriage is neat, and the prop is just Wow! Well, done, Marc

Very nice progress, Alexis!

The lozenge decals are transparent but I stayed away from shading in the ribs . In this scale with the amount of ribs this would have not looked natural giving it an over done appearance.
With that amount of ribs your decision is clear, but it seems to be a bug of the kit! The lower wing has nine ribs, as normal. See at 1:07 in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfPvy_4M3Hg

There is a reason, where this comes from. There are additional bracing elements between the ribs, which are visible as small lines in the plans (the normal ribs are double lines). There exists a picture against light, where those looks like the ribs, but they are smaller and the cloth is only nailed to the normal ribs.
So the kit creators have interpreted it wrongly :(

Cheers,
Frank

Guten Tag Frank !

You are very correct on the ribs spacing , they are wrong in the kit . actually the whole wings are just wrong and waaaaay overly thick . I should have made new wings and tossed this in the trash , but then this creates corrections at the lower wing root leading into  major work on the fuselage which isn't accurate either . But it is what it is and I do have another where more of these issue will get corrected on that build .

Thanks Frank for sharing your knowledge , it keeps us on our toes  ;)

Ok Alexis, then I cancelled this kit from my search list. Thanks for the Info!
If the wings and the fuselage need a heavy rework, undercarriage and struts I could do in brass (I trained that recently) and the engine can be used from Eduard then is no big value remaining of this old high priced kit. This is may be the a candidate for a scratch build, one day in far future!

Thanks and cheers,
Frank
