Dual Build: CSM Nieuport XXIII & Roden Pfalz DIII 1/32nd scale

I have been catching up Rick and was admiring the Pfalz...... oh no what a disaster! That is so frustrating and disappointing at the same time. I was pleased to read that you do not intend to gibve up. Are there any parts that you could salvage for the spares box?

The Nieuport is looking good though and I am sure that no-one will notice the cowling. I also hope that this one does not get dropped.

Thanks again Stephen. I saved a few parts like the engine and seat etc. In this case the structural rigging worked against Me. It tried and succeeded in generally holding the wings together but at the cost of breaking struts. The final straw was trying to get the gear legs back in place and splitting one of the struts at the axle connection. Like I said I will tackle this kit and scheme again. Hopefully around Feb. I can get one as My self given Birthday present...and who knows there May be a Roden SPAD by then

So I have continued on with the Nieuport 23. I have weathered heavily per the original Russian bird. I also added the upper wing. Rigging is in place and needs to be tightened.

Your N.23 is looking great! That silver dope finish is marvelous, especially with all of that heavy staining and oil residue.

Thanks. I like the Silver, Floquil Old Silver with a slight overspray of Extra Color Weiss Aluminum.

I worked on the Nieuport a bit more today. I added the Vickers, painted some leather details, and added the rudder and landing gear.

Terri, the Mono is My Go to rigging . Only when the painful necessity arises do I go to stretched sprue
