Thanks all for the comments! I did a little oil work today. Going for a darker look to match the one in the Brussels Museum: Perhaps a coat of clear orange or yellow once dry.

Clear orange with a touch of brown should do the trick . That is a really nice effect Rick , How dark do you want to go ?

What a great project, I like the choice of Roden and CSM kits now that WNW are gone. Great subjects too.

Thanks Richie. Like I said I chose these two for that Very Reason!

And a small update. I did an overspray of Tamiya clear yellow/orange then added som burnt umber oil washes for an "Oily" look. Still a bit to do.

and a little on the Pfalz: I began to correct what I thought was a "Short Shot". I have since been informed that the area was to allow for the exhaust and was common for the kit...not a mistake. So before I "Un- correct" My repair is this like the ledge molded on almost all Albatros kits that wasn't really there or should the rectangular section indeed be cut away ??

Good start with wood painting!
I have also a rare Pfalz D.III kit from Eduard in my stash. The D.IIIa was often released, but not the D.III
The good thing is we don't need full weapons, since only the fronts of the 08/15 are visible :D

Cheers,
Frank

Good progress Rick, and as usual all at high speed with no detrimental impact on quality. The wood tones are very good.

Great work as usual, Rick, if you refer to the "ledge" meaning the piece you replaced with a white plasticard one, well I saw on all the DIII photos and profile that the housing of the MGs was completely closed and just the end  of the barrel was visible...

Looking good! What was/is it with the tank on the Pfalz wing? Should it not be there, or will it be replaced by PE or something?
