I find it a bit strange that there is a lot of talk about AndysHQ and even MBK yet no one talks about Wheels+Wings hobbies.
They have some very nice kits still in stock ( AEG early + late, AMC, etc...they even have some Felixstowe late !) and from what I can see at "normal" prices.

An Excellent Canadian Hobby Shop , it's where I bought all of my WNW kit expect two of them . Very friendly and will answer your questions . fast shipping but with the way things are now it might be delayed a day or two .

Hit the "add to cart" button for one that was "in stock" and then to to "checkout" within 10 seconds and received a "not in stock" response that quickly...... :'(

I bet every one of those kits that went so quickly will never be built by the person who bought them.

There is something fundamentally amiss with a society which forces it's modelers to work for a living.

I would agree with your statement.  This was a feeding frenzy to be sure, modelers caught up in the moment, speculating on what they can resell them for.

I'm sure there is some of that, but even a hardcore WNW builder cannot ignore the market potential. Selling a double of a Felistowe in 3 mos. could pay for a lot of AM bits for your stash.

I can’t speak for anyone else but the 3 WNW kits I bought from MBK the other week I intend to build eventually - that’s why I was selective with the ones I bought.  Of course, if absolutely necessary for me to asset strip to feed my family then I might be forced to sell( but they weren’t primarily an investment.

That's how I feel, I bought one kit which I hope to eventually build.

Exactly my motivations Ian. I buy to collect and build. If I’m forced to sell to pay bills so be it.

I’d like to mention that I managed to get ahold of a kit from the Andy's sale for a friend of mine who lives overseas, who I know will be building it. Didn’t get anything for myself. We’re not all scalpers and hoarders.

You are one of the lucky ones.  I was on at 1010 on Friday and it was pretty well sold out by then.  So I went to the store, which was pretty picked over as well, but he had a good stock of "non essential" kits.
