Many thanks Petrov, Gary, Dave, Gaz, Terri  and Stephen, I am very happy and flattered to receive your kind and generous comments.

No special photography equipment was used Gary, I just sat it on white box against the kitchen wall and snapped away on my mobile phone. The light was very kind!

Stephen, the wrong scale suits me so much better than the one true scale. I trashed a 1/72  Swordfish, Gladiator and Tiger Moth before deciding it was time to walk with dinosaurs.  I have an idea of how to go about the next project, it may need to be in an even more gargantuan scale though. ;)

Great Triplane, absolutely amazing build. No one would believe you that this is your first WWI model  :)

Richie,
I missed your Completed Post until now. I can't say enough about the finished model so I will just say, Brilliant Work! Your first completion Stands up to any builds of this kit I have seen! Following your processes has been a treat for Me! Congratulations on a First Class Build!

Thank you so much Andreas! It's actually my first biplane or triplane, I made the Eindekker last year with mixed results but really enjoyed it.

As you can see I didn't fit the wings very well and missed out a lot of the rigging, the prop is just held on with blu tac after I lost a part. The Max figure was my first figure since I painted all my toy soldiers nearly 50 years ago.

Many thanks Rick, it was great to have you along encouraging me right from the start of this build. I was feeling at one point that the Gods of modelling were starting to play games with me and I could quite easily have given up and grabbed a Spitfire out of the stash instead! ;)

Top shelf build there, Richie.  I'll be waiting to see what's next.  If you're going to tackle a scratchbuild, you're going up a steep slope - but don't be discouraged.  We're all behind you!

Thanks Ken, I really appreciate that. I'm going to have a play at it but need to accept that it is going to be a hugely frustrating and slow process at first. There's just so much to learn!

As said in the build report - that is a great Triplane model! The model looks very much like the machine in the museum hangar.
Thanks for that journey, it was a pleasure to watch. Your speed of learning was impressive, let's see how long you need now to learn micro soldering :D

experimenting with methods to enable me to build a 1/32 aircraft that has never been available as a kit.
Oh, that project will be fun for you and us 8)

So true! For all of us, and the best is, this will never stop :)

Thanks Luke, it's a superbly engineered kit. I am sure you will enjoy making it, any issues I had were entirely of my own making. Looking forward to seeing your build too. :)

Haha, thanks Frank. Yes the micro soldering is going to be an important technique to learn. I'm hoping the master will be on hand to offer advice. :)

I'm going to try to finish off my Camel and SE5a and make a start on the new project. I have been playing with plastic card and brass tubes recently, results have not been very impressive yet!

Thanks Ed, I just saw photos of your completely awesome 1/28 scratch built Tripe. If you did a build log or any construction photos I would love to see them.

Great build and a wonderful paintjob! I have only built German WNW kits but this has tempted me to break out my Sopwiths!

I shall never forget my admiration for that German pilot, who single handed, fought seven of us for ten minutes. I saw him go into a fairly steep dive and so I continued to watch, and then saw the triplane hit the ground and disappear into a thousand fragments...James McCudden
