« on: May 29, 2020, 04:09:38 AM »
Hello,

Are they right regarding the spandau? I'm planning to use eduard 1/72 scale fokker DVII for this one

I am speculating, but I think the prototype did not have weapons mounted for the trials.  They were most likely planned to be armed with the Spandaus.  This is based on pictures of prototypes from the fighter trials having no weapons.

The Fokker V.29, as most prototypes, was not armed. If you use a Fokker D.VII fuselage please take into account that the lower profile was different. Being a monoplane, the lower curve of the fuselage is more similar to that of the D.VIII.

no armament on the prototype.

@Beto: are you sure? form some comparison with a 3d model i concluded that the fuselage remained pretty the same,
I also concluded that the wings are different from the D.VIII, having a larger chord

Yes I am. - Long time ago I overlapped one of the few existing images of the V29 over one of a D.VII taken from the same angle and the difference was evident. Also if you have Jack Herris' book "Germany's fighter competitions of 1918", it includes plans of the V29, but beware: the lower line of the fuselage was not completely straight from under the seat back to the tail as in the published plans. It had a slight curve, similar to that of the D.VIII
