Great model so far.
I can sign that!
I build the black one with some add ons (e.g. resin engine) and Aviattic decals. My Profipack was from the first edition, with really strange lozenge colors, but Cartograf markings. The redition later with the same order number (all decals are printed by Eduard) has a bit better lozenge colors, but can't reach Aviattic.
Since there is a second set on the sheet I will build the blue/red one one day, the kit is already in stash.

If you want the use Aviattic, the very prominent stitching has to be removed. In case you want some ideas: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=9722.0

Have fun,
Frank

I like the plane and the kit has fond memories, so I will be following your build. Great start!

I looked at the link and found a lot to study and learn, (read, blatantly steal :-). One dumb question however. How big is the Euro cent relative to a US penny, (about 18mm)?

Frank, thank you for sharing a link, anyway, I already know all your "published" work ,since  your models are a great inspiration for WWI model builders.
My dilema was, should i build this,a Udet mode.l or ,a black one with wonderful ornament on a fuselage. So I decided for red one,but with intention to get another one SSW, and to build this black plane.

Ah, lozenge  decals, that is so strange with Eduard, they can make everything ,they are mostly not a shame of their mistakes and always trying to correct them, but with lozenge decals, and as i can see not only on this model, they mostly fail. My copy is with  lozenge correction  but still i am not sure in colors.
Stitching is sanded already .

The lozenge looks excellent and really goes well with the red fuselage! Outstanding work on all!

Pedja, I like the read shade! What paint did you use?

Since you selected the Udet marking:  If you like you can add 3! of his other machines to your collection at once. ;)

I friend has one of those photo postcards that were popular in Germany at the time. It is of Udet sitting in the cockpit of his Lo! SSW. It was a bit faded when I saw it 10 yrs ago. I will try to look him up and see if I can get a photo of the card. Your model is really starting to look good.
How far down did you sand the rib stitching detail? Did you loose the stitches and keep the tape or did you go all the way down to the wing surface?

Well, since it is a quarantine time here in Serbia (as in a most of the rest of the world) i was forced to use colors that i had in my stock ,and unfortunatly it was only two shades of Vallejo colors, one was Vermilion Model air and the other one is some Model color red (not even for an airbrush). mixing these two i made this shade of red. My first choice would be some Mr.color redbut there was no choice this time :).

Since you selected the Udet marking:  If you like you can add 3! of his other machines to your collection at once. ;)

To be honest, that was my plan ,if Eduard make some restock of this box, since the first edition is no longer available in their web site.

Cheers,
Frank

@smperry: I did sand the ribs but not to "the end" so there was some stitching detail still visible, i would say just enough for lozenge decals to cover it without tearing appart.

Thanks, I have the original release and haven't looked at it recently, but IIRC, there wasn't a huge amount of tape and stitching detail on those wings. I looked at the more recent release at the hobby shop the other day. Still kicking myself for not picking it up. The bottom of the fuselage louvers were all the way through and looked great. It would be easier to sand rib stitches than carve out louvers. Maybe I will run back down to Tampa and get that new release, it wasn't that expensive.
Keep up the good work.
